Saturday, July 18th, 2009

If you’ve got same error message in iTunes, just do following steps:

  1. Close iTunes.
  2. Remove contents of folder “C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Application Data\Apple Computer\SyncServices\Local”
  3. Start iTunes and reconnect your iPhone.
  4. Wow! it works :)

resolving wireless connection issue in Windows Vista - shows “Local Only”

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I got a connection issue with my Windows Vista when I just installed it over my Windows XP Media Edition.

The same wireless router was shown as “Local Only” in my list of available Wi-Fi connections.

I tried to find an answer over internet and found following topics with different solutions:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233/en-us

http://www.windowsvistaweblog.com/2007/05/26/windows…

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us…

But nothing worked for me.

Then I tried to reinstall Wireless connection setting on my Router using installation CD and it made the trick.

Please, let me know what helped you, because I still have the same issue while using my laptop in most of internet cafes and so on. As I understood, not every router resolves DHCP in a correct way from the Vista stand of point.

Thanks,
Alex
